Peak Potential

The Summit’s Upper School program enables students in grades nine through twelve to expand on lessons learned at the Middle School, and prepares them for the academic, spiritual, and life challenges they will face at college and beyond. A rigorous academic curriculum and our world-class Credo character education program, combined with an excellent offering in sports, arts, music, and drama, helps every student reach his or her full potential, and transform the values of a Summit education into a lifetime of success.

Superb Academics

The Upper School curriculum provides top-notch academic instruction designed to prepare students for admission to highly selective colleges and universities. An extensive selection of Advanced Placement offerings gives students an academic edge by challenging them to tackle complex subject matter, with over 20% of Upper School students receiving National Merit recognition. As a result, our graduates go on to attend some of the most prestigious secondary schools in the country. With 60% of our faculty holding a Masters Degree, and a teacher/student ratio of 8:1, the Upper School’s reputation for personalized attention and educational excellence is well deserved.

Life Lessons

The Upper School is also a time for continued spiritual growth. Our student Christian Service Committee, retreat team, and campus ministry all give students the chance to explore and express their spirituality, while the Servant Leadership program empowers each student to develop a spirit of collaborative service.

Guided by a student-directed Honor Code and The Summit’s Educating for Character program, students develop a strong moral compass during their Upper School years – one they carry with them as they leave The Summit and go forth into the world.
